Welcome
We are delighted to welcome you to this remarkable destination, where Mediterranean charm, timeless tradition, and vibrant innovation come together in perfect harmony.
Perched gracefully on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples, Sorrento has captivated travellers for centuries. Its winding streets, bright citrus gardens, and elegant piazzas embody the essence of Southern Italian beauty. Known since ancient times as a place of hospitality, Sorrento has inspired poets, artists, and explorers with its breathtaking coastal views, warm light, and serene atmosphere.
As you stroll through the town, you will discover its rich heritage woven into every corner: from historic monasteries and magnificent churches to artisan workshops still preserving centuries-old craftsmanship. The scent of lemon groves—home of the world-famous Sorrento lemons—fills the air, adding to the town’s unmistakable character.
No visit to Sorrento would be complete without experiencing its renowned culinary traditions. Savour the authentic flavours of the Mediterranean: homemade gnocchi alla sorrentina, freshly caught seafood, and traditional desserts like delizia al limone. Enjoy a glass of local wine or sip the iconic limoncello, crafted from lemons grown on the surrounding terraces. Here, food is not just a meal but a celebration of culture, community, and genuine hospitality.
Sorrento is also easy to explore, whether by leisurely walks through its charming historic centre, scenic coastal routes, or short excursions to nearby treasures such as Capri, Positano, and the Amalfi Coast. Wherever you go, you will be greeted with the warmth and generosity for which this region is renowned.
We hope your stay in Sorrento will be as inspiring as it is memorable—an opportunity to enjoy the beauty, traditions, and flavours of the Mediterranean while taking part in AVEC General Assembly.
Welcome, and may your time here be both enriching and unforgettable!
